today my colleague and i went to Batu Feringgi (Wikipedia kata Foreigner's Rock) and we stopped by at Masjid Terapung to perfom the solat. To compare with Masjid Terapung in Terengganu, i find Terengganu's matches the 'terapung' concept. Unlike Penang, the Masjid will only terapung bila air pasang.
tapi takpelah... different places have different style and their uniqueness. kan?

keadaan sebelum air pasang. papepon, masjid tetap cantik.

Ana is the one behind the wheel all the way to batu feringgi as she is very adventurous and reliable when driving in a new, unfamiliar places. ( kitorang x pakai GPS ye..haha.. masjid ni pon kebetulan jumpa masa dalam perjalanan)

The surgeon put his hand on my shoulder and said, "Your cancer has come roaring back. I would give you about thirty days to live."

"...It was lung cancer. I'd previously had one lung removed. Now, four months later, the cancer was back. This time it was in my ribs and lymph system..... " Yes, this is seriously happening. It's not me, but it's my kmys senior,brother mas afzal.

He was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma Stage 3 in his final year as a medical student in UK in july, 2008.

He started to blog after so many people request him to share his life experience battling with cancer. And he did. I have always follow his blog since he started blogging in December 2008. His writing inspires me a lot, on how to always be positive, dare to dream high, and most of all... he always has things to be grateful. [Masya-allah...!!!]

He is very strong, considering that he is just 26 this year, at such young tender age, battling with the deadly cancer. I can never imagine if this happens to me, or my family. I will collapse for sure, and to imagine further I do not dare. May Allah swt bless him and his family a never ending courage and strength. ~aamin


Health is a blessing we often overlook. Yes?
Allah swt has many ways to test our faith, our iman.
Brother Mas Afzal is one of the chosen people to be tested with illness. Despite the illness, he never gives up, and he tries his very best to do good deeds that benefits other people.

Having good health, is also a test by Allah swt. The test is more challenging, heavier and trickier. Thinking back, how many times we are grateful to Allah swt for these ultimate blessings? What are the good deeds that we have done so far with our good health?

Ooo Allah, I really feel ashamed of myself. Astaghfirullah !!

i found that i will be blogging whenever i am suppose to do something much more important. currently i am suppose to do my assignment, but i can't figure out on how to solve it, thus, the blogging. *giggle

suddenly i feel like writing about this. it's based on my experience and observation mixing with different type of people. this is my honest view/perspective as a girl.


1. lelaki yang menggunakan bahasa carut-carutan di hadapan perempuan.
perempuan yang dimaksudkan adalah ibu, ahli keluarga, serta kawan yang berjantina perempuan. jika ingin berbuat demikian, lakukannya bersama rakan-rakan yang sealiran.
sejujurnya, rasa hormat saya akan terkikis pada lelaki sebegini.
"berkatalah yang baik-baik sahaja atau diam."


2. lelaki suka yang bercakap besar, walhal dia tidaklah sehebat mana.
sangat memualkan apabila kita tahu yang dia tidaklah sehebat mana, namun bercakap besar. akhirnya kita juga yang dicari untuk membantu menyelesaikan masalahnya/kerjanya.
"umpama harimau yang tidak bertaring yang mengaum garang"


3. lelaki yang kononnya hendak bergurau/berkelakar, tetapi lawaknya dikategorikan sebagai "offensive" oleh perempuan.
contoh, " cantiknya perempuan itu, rasa nak cium." "nanti aku peluk kang. " "nak cium..!! "
[what the heck? lelaki yang tidak sopan amat saya jauhi.]


maaf, ini hanyalah luahan/pendapat peribadi saya sahaja. mungkin perempuan lain tidak kisah jika mempunyai teman yang suka mencarut di hadapannya, tetapi saya kisah.
mungkin ada yang senang dengan teman yang gemar menggunakan "offensive joke", tetapi saya tidak. saya sangat-sangat menghargai lelaki yang tahu menghormati orang lain.

saya bukanlah insan yang sempurna, dan tiada insan yang sempurna. itu pasti.
[mungkin] ada yang berpendapat, " kecohlah minah ni. kolot... "
tetapi, bukankah ia menjadi kewajipan kita untuk berusaha menjadi lebih baik? saya doakan agar golongan ini berubah, dan kita juga...!! peluang untuk berubah sentiasa ada. *smile

Yesterday I went to bed earlier than usual, which was around 10pm. My day was packed with lab, redo-ing the assignment, chasing the afternoon tutorial session, doing some calculation exercise and studying for the upcoming midterm test. I was mentally exhausted and the uninvited headache came knocking.

And now, here I am, blogging..haha I woke up around 1230am to continue my reading for the midterm test..and after 2 hours, I feel sleepy again, So, I decided to blog for a while to kill this sleepiness. [alasan]

This is a picture of my study table [very small part of it]. I always have my own-made poster to motivate me to work hard and try my best, and to believe that something better is waiting for me, insha-allah.

Sacrifice is giving up something good for something better.

In this context, we can also say that giving up = letting go. Letting go isn’t about loss and it's not about defeat. It is having an open mind and confidence in the future. Letting go is having the courage to accept change, and strength to keep moving. Letting go is growing up.

SPM is around the corner.
It is less than two weeks from now. Last night while talking to my little sister on the phone, I asked her about her final preparation for the fierce and merciless battle, the SPM. She said that so far, her preparation is good..but she is very-very nervous. I understand her feeling since I had experienced it before.

Hmmm.. when thinking back about my high school...the year when I sat for the SPM. I can still remember the feeling. Nervous, but at the same time excited. Nervous because I was afraid of screwing up my papers. Excited because I don't have to go through the nerve wrecking moment again..haha

All in all... I really enjoy my high school years. So much memories and unforgettable moments.

cantik tak? baru je beli semalam.

They are the combination of white and yellow chrysanthemums. There is a florist shop that I regularly visit to buy flowers to decorate my room or my table. The flowers are fresh, nice and really cheap. The yellow and white colours give me these energetic and fresh feeling whenever I look at them.

Lately I noticed the power, feeling, mood, and some sort of energy that comes from flowers and plants around me. God shows us proofs of His creation with His superior power and infinite knowledge everywhere, and expects us to reflect and draw conclusions from them. As stated in the Holy Quran, only people capable of using their intellects can think and learn and thus know and appreciate our Lord in the best possible way.

This morning, accompanied by my sore throat, my running nose and my headache, I went to the panel clinic. That time I was sooo not in the mood, and I bet I will punch anyone at their face if they try to mess up with me.

While waiting for my name to be called to see the dear doctor, I sat next to a woman with his son on her lap. The mother is reading a magazine, and that little boy is very cute, around 4 years old I presume. At first, I could not catch what is the little boy is mumbling about. And when I try to listen carefully, it really surprise me!! that little boy is reciting "Asma ul Husna", but in a "pelat" way.

Ya Allah..!! I feel like my body was numb for a second, and I really feel ashamed of myself when comparing to that dear little boy. "berzikir bukan hanya selepas solat, tapi berzikirlah setiap kali ada masa terluang."Slowly I began to follow that boy's rhythm, I started to berzikir dalam hati, since I felt sooo weak to walk, or even to talk.

Terima kasih Tuhan, kerana memberi peringatan dalam keadaan yang tidak disangka-sangka...Alhamdulillah... *smile

Hembusan angin ke muka. Sang angin sedang berzikir.
Bunyi cicipan burung yang kedengaran. Sang burung juga sedang berzikir.
Bunyi deruan air sungai yang mengalir. Sang sungai juga tidak pernah lupa berzikir.

I have always love to look to the sky, but never thought to capture and share it with people. Inspired by miss jane, i have snapped a few pictures, and the pictures are not soo bad after all...hehe

There is a saying, whenever we feel sad or frustrated, just look to the sky. It really soothes our feeling just by looking at the sky, admit it. It seems like that vast and unbound sky penetrates through our heart and sweeps our sadness and negative feelings away.

I have always have the passion for english books, but during these few months, i tried to deviate that passion to malay books. Mind you, it's not the 'novel meleleh' type. I have the tendency to read about motivation, religion and global knowledge genres when it comes to malay books. Saya selalunya akan lebih terkesan apabila membaca bidang-bidang yang penting dalam bahasa ibunda. *smile

Last month, i have 'borongED' four books from my online shopping. I spent a lot without realising it.When it comes to books, i don't mind spending my money. I feel that it is worth to spend a lot for knowledge.
I have just finished reading this book- BENARKAH ISKANDAR BUKAN ZULQARNAIN. From this book, i got to know clearly who is this Zulqarnain that was mention in the holy Quran, and who is ALEXANDER THE GREAT a.k.a Iskandar Agung. From my reading, i can conclude that Zulqarnain is not Iskandar, vice versa.

To make things simple, Iskandar is the name of a king, but Zulqarnain is the 'gelaran' to a king stated in the Holy Quran. There are a few candidates/kings that were discussed in this book that suited the gelaran for example; Raja Xerxes, Raja Kurush, etc, but clearly it is not Raja Iskandar Agung from Macedonia.

Besides that, the author also disscussed about Jews, how the Jews were divided to 12 clans, about nabi-nabi(messengers) that we never knew and heard of, and not to miss, para rasul (prophets). There is also a discussion about a religion that worship the fire a.k.a majusi- how it is originated, who start it, when, what, and many more.

Currently I am reading this book- BERCINTA SAMPAI KE SYURGA. [sweet je tajuk dia..heh] it should be noted that this is a motivation, soul searching book. its not a lovey-dovey book, okay. It is the continuation of a best seller book entitled ' AKU TERIMA NIKAHNYA'. I'll review this book as soon as I finish reading it.

I have always love to read, and really I don’t mind spending on it. I read with the aim to seek knowledge. Walking about in Popular Bookstore (Melaka), I stumped onto Dina Zaman’s I AM MUSLIM. First glance doesn’t really beat, looking at the dull, gray cover page, but when I skimmed through few pages, I have to admit myself “The content is different from other contemporary book."


honest. transparent. and the writing style is very different. actually, it is the compilation of articles which she wrote in her blog, and some of them come from the Malaysiakini.com column.

In my personal opinion, she is a liberalist, who's travel to search the meaning of being a muslim and to deepen her faith. She meets shamans, nationalist, moderates, and gets into all sorts of scrapes to discover what Islam means to Muslims in Malaysia.

I may not 100% ly agree to what she wrote, but through this book we are able to test our faith, and how strong we believe and hold to Islam.
Read and think, that is the key. Do not swallowed everything, what she thinks/writes does not means it is correct.
